Hey there! First, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me. I'm Philip, but most people know me as FitPhil. For the past 24 years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching, training, and mentoring individuals on their journey to strength, health, and self-discovery. But fitness, to me, is so much more than lifting weights or sculpting a body—it’s about building people up, helping them unleash their potential, and transforming lives from the inside out.
At the core of everything I do is *love*—love for my faith, my family, my community, and my God-given purpose. I am deeply in love with my beautiful, supportive wife, and I cherish every opportunity to serve, uplift, and inspire those around me. Whether it’s inside the gym or simply through words of encouragement, my mission is simple: help people believe in themselves, break barriers, and become stronger—not just physically, but in every aspect of life.
I wasn’t always confident. I wasn’t always strong. I know what it feels like to be broken.
Growing up, I faced bullying, self-doubt, and crippling low self-esteem. I struggled to see the goodness inside myself. But then, something changed. I picked up my first set of weights, and suddenly, I found something I could *control, shape, and grow*—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Bodybuilding gave me purpose, discipline, and a sense of identity. I poured myself into it, studying training techniques and nutrition, pushing myself to the limits, and eventually competing on stage as a bodybuilder.
Then, in 2006, my world was shattered.
I suffered a horrific tree accident that left me wondering if I would ever walk properly again. Doctors told me that bodybuilding was no longer in my future. I asked if there was even a small chance of returning to the sport. They said, "There’s always a small chance." That was all I needed to hear.
With unshakable determination, months of excruciating physical therapy, and sheer grit, I refused to accept defeat. My back healed, my nerves repaired, and against all odds, I returned to the gym. But just as I was rising again, life hit me even harder.
While I was still recovering, my marriage fell apart. My wife at the time was having an affair and soon wanted a divorce. Already struggling to rebuild my body, I now had to rebuild my entire life. I felt lost, betrayed, and alone.
But I wasn’t alone.
Through God’s grace, the support of true friends, and a burning desire to rise from the ashes, I got my second chance. A close friend believed in me enough to write me a check to help start my fitness career. That moment changed everything. Someone gave me a chance—and I ran with it. I never looked back.
Were there struggles? Absolutely. Some brought me to my knees. But I refused to give up. My team grew. My knowledge expanded. I studied, traveled, and learned from some of the best fitness and nutrition experts in the country. With every rep, every setback, every lesson—I became stronger, not just in body, but in mind and soul.
After my final bodybuilding competition in 2012, I realized that true strength isn’t just about muscle. It’s about mobility, resilience, and total well-being. I transitioned into functional fitness, nutrition, and holistic health, with a *deeper mission*—to help others *not just look strong, but _*be_* strong in every area of their lives*.
Because I know what it’s like to feel lost.
I know what it’s like to *feel weak*—physically, emotionally, spiritually.
I know what it’s like to *fight back*—to claw your way out of darkness and into strength, confidence, and purpose.
And now, I dedicate my life to helping YOU do the same.
